Taking and Handing Over Appliances to Barra Fire and Sea Rescue Station at Barra Fire and Rescue Station Ground

Wednesday, 16th October, 2024, A delegation from The Gambia Fire and Rescue Service comprises of Deputy Chief Fire officer Mariama Jobarteh, Assistant Chief Fire Officer Samba Jacob Jarjue, Assistant Divisional Fire Officer Alagie Y. Nyandou and other personnel crossed over from Banjul to Barra Fire Fire and Rescue Station with two Appliances, one Fire Truck and one Rescue Boat.

On his opening remarks, The Chief of Operation, Samba Jacob Jarjue, Said, elaborate the significance of the Fire Truck to emergencies responding and the boat will help to extending Patients from Barra to Banjul likewise, urgent transporting of corps from Banjul to Barra end.

D. C, Mariama Jobarteh said, she was delighted to the community of Barra for the collaboration with the two GFRS stations, thus their presence in this gathering signifies their good cordial relationship. She elaborates the importance of the donated appliances and the needs for proper management.

From Barra Police Station, Chief Superintendent Dawda Jobe said, the Police work hands in gloves with the two GFRS Stations in Niumi on Joint Security Task Force and responding to incidents. Furthermore, he said, the two GFRS stations are very important in North Bank Region to responding to Emergencies both inland and out at sea.

Representating the Alkalo of Barra was Mr. Sajuka Faye, He said, the appliances came at the best time for the needy, while emphasizing the importance roles of Barra Fire and Rescue Station and as well the Rescue Boat for the Sea Rescue Station.

In handing over, Mr. Sajuka Faye handed over the Fire Truck to Assistant Divisional Fire Officer Omar Joof, Barra Fire and Rescue Station and Chief Superintendent Dawda Jobe, hand over the Rescue Boat to Station Officer Bakary Manneh, Barra Sea Rescue Station.
